Create a draft entry

Creates an entry as a draft. It is never published by the key — a person reviews and publishes it in DUMA, and there is no edit, publish or delete endpoint for keys.

content:writeSecret key only

Secret workspace key only (dk_sec_…); legacy dcms_… content keys are refused with 401.

Every authenticated request is written to the workspace’s audit log with the key as the actor.

Links must point at existing entries and assets, and slugs and unique fields must not clash. Invalid data is a 422 with issues: [{ field, message }].

A 409 when the singleton already has its entry, the document already has that locale, or the slug is in use. An unconfigured locale is a 400.

id is this locale’s entry; documentId is shared by every locale of the same entry, and is the id the Content API returns.

typeKeystringRequired
The content type’s key. Read its fields with GET /v1/cms/delivery/content-types/{typeKey}.

JSON, sent with Content-Type: application/json.

dataobjectRequired
The field values, keyed by field key. Drafts may be incomplete, but every value given must be valid for its field.

Optional

localestring
A configured locale code, up to 16 characters. Defaults to the workspace’s default locale.
documentIdstring (uuid)
Adds this locale to an existing entry of the same type instead of starting a new one.
